That’s over 6,000 properties for sale! No matter what market you live in, there are multiple houses for buyers to choose from. How do you set yourself apart from the others?

You have a choice…make your house the best value (i.e. least expensive), or price it in line with the competition and make your house the most appealing.

Hmmm, let me see, if you want to sell fast, you can reduce your price or improve your property. Decisions…decisions…. If you reduce the price, that will cost you $10,000, $20,000, or more. If you improve the appeal of your house, you may spend as little as $1,000.

$10,000 or $1,000. What to do??

Improve the appeal, of course! Make your house the first to be sold in its price group because it shows so well! In this buyer’s market, it’s almost essential to have your home staged. And what is Staging? It is the process of preparing the interior and exterior of your house to appeal to the widest range of buyers. It is NOT decorating. It IS neutralizing your house so buyers can imagine it as their new home.

Studies show that staged homes sell faster and avoid expensive price reductions. This chart compares the average number of days on market between houses not staged and listed, houses listed, staged and sold, and houses staged first, then listed and sold.

Staging works to set your house apart from the hundreds competing for the same buyers in your area, and gives you an incredible advantage at a fraction of the cost of competing on price alone.

Preferred Staging, LLC can help you stage your home and avoid that dreaded price reduction. Please visit our web site at to learn more about staging in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties and the services we offer.
